My 3 Favorite Space Mountain Collectibles
This past Saturday, May 27 2017, Space Mountain at Disneyland celebrated 40 thrilling years! Seeing as how I chose my top collectibles in honor of the Pirates of the Caribbean 50th anniversary which can be seen by CLICKING HERE - it's only fair that I give Space Mountain, another Disneyland favorite of mine, the same treatment. Here are three items straight out of my collection that I have great fondness for. 1. Space Mountain Official Astronaut Inaugural Flight at Disneylan

Today We Remember
It's Memorial Day Monday, and many people are enjoying a day off in remembrance of those who sacrificed dearly to preserve our freedoms. As I sip my coffee this morning, there is no Monday morning angst. I am very fortunate to have the privilege of living the weekly irritation that is Monday morning. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces, and to those who have made unfathomable sacrifices for the sake of our freedom. Thank you to

On This Day In Disney History
Disneyland’s Space Mountain roller coaster opened 40 years ago today on May 27, 1977. I specify the attraction’s location at Disneyland because a seldom realized fact is that Space Mountain at Walt Disney World actually opened first just over two years prior. After the success of the attraction at WDW, Imagineers moved quickly to adapt the ride for Disneyland which had tighter space restrictions. The grand opening was a huge event that included six of the original seven Me

Savor The Days of Yesteryear While Savoring Your Morning Coffee
This Monday is halfway in the books already, but many people often require the benefit of a cup of coffee throughout the course of the entire day. Morning, midday, clocking out - no better time like the present to enjoy a Mug of the Day! For today’s Mug of the Day I stumbled across a mug on eBay a day or so ago that caught my attention immediately. If I wasn’t on a self-imposed spending freeze I would jump at the chance to purchase it as the listing is still live at the ti

THE Penny Arcade Getting Some Souvenir Love
Once again it’s Saturday and the discovery of another Twenty Eight & Main souvenir has blown me away. The patches baseball cap looks amazing and has what can best be described as vintage advertising park icon patches. Some of my favorite souvenirs pay homage to more obscure park icons and in this case it is the whimsical Penny Arcade found on Main Street that is shown some rare “souvenir love.” This hat has six different patches as follows: Main Street Penny Arcade - A room

Where The Magic Truly Began
Many believe it was all started by a mouse. Not true. It all started within the mind of a single man gifted with unbridled creative prowess and drive. Walter Elias Disney - born on December 5th, 1901. Today’s Mug of the Day was created to honor what would have been Walt’s 100th birthday celebration had he not left us much too soon at the young age of 65. I picked up this mug some time ago off a major secondary market auction sales website - namely eBay, lol. It shows a l

Don’t Be Caught Dead In The Water!
Dead men tell no tales - so liven up matey! Hurry up and down that cup of joe! It’s Monday and prime time to showcase a new coffee mug. Today’s mug is a new release featuring the upcoming blockbuster: Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Men Tell No Tales. Portrayed on this mug are the characters of Henry Turner, Carina Smyth, and Captain Jack Sparrow played by, of course, none other than Johnny Depp. The recent release of this mug and other film related merchandise just so ha

The Man Behind the Vision
While I have an affinity for all things Disney, I have a stronger appreciation for anything connected directly to the man behind the original vision for the Disney Company, Walt Disney himself. This week’s Souvenir Saturday pays homage to the creative prowess of Walt. If you are lucky enough to be in the Parks in the near future, keep an eye out for this amazing souvenir so you can bring a piece of Walt Disney’s vision home with you! From the Walt Disney Archive Collection,

Words To Live By
Monday mornings are the worst. I am willing to go so far as to say that even morning people don't like Monday mornings. Monday mornings aside, what if no morning is pleasant in your book? Perhaps, much like myself, you are not a “morning person.” At one point I considered myself a “night owl,” although at this stage in my life as a parent of two little ones, I am slowly coming to terms with being neither. If you are of the type of personality that dreads life in the morning
