A Table Lamp of Nostalgic Adventure
This is my own design and creation for personal use. I wanted a table lamp that provided a similar ambiance to what is experienced in Adventureland at Disneyland. The tiki torch flame effect LED bulb and bamboo structure lamp I purchased provided just the starting point I needed. I then created my own abstract art images of iconic attractions in Adventureland. The front facing panel has the Adventureland entrance sign over the “Adventurers Club” logo of which I have always

Please, allow me to introduce you to the newest iteration of the souvenir Wooden Nickel! About the nostalgicdisney.com inaugural souvenir wooden nickel: This inaugural release is a strict limited edition of 1,000 wooden nickels. The reverse side of this token features an artistic rendering of the well-known image of Walt Disney walking through the Slee

Something Strange in the Pirates of the Caribbean Neighborhood.
Much in the same vein of Ghostbusters - a dark story is told of a pervasive evil but interlaced with an edgy adult humor while maintaining a quirkiness that made it entertaining for me as a child. As an adult, I was shocked when I re-watched Ghostbusters and heard the frequent occurrence of salty sexual humor. I could easily be offended by the sexist suggestive comedy but never in a million years would I petition the director or studio to do re-shoots and re-release the fil

One of a Kind Disneyland 60th Anniversary Pin Display
This is the second LED-lit Disney pin shadowbox I have created. The first can be seen by CLICKING HERE. I don’t normally begin my posts with a picture slideshow, but for this shadowbox I have created I will make an exception. It is hard to capture the mesmerizing beauty of the completed display in simple photographs. To see it in person is on another level entirely and I am way beyond pleased to see my vision come to a completed reality. Without further ado, I present t

Where The Magic Truly Began
Many believe it was all started by a mouse. Not true. It all started within the mind of a single man gifted with unbridled creative prowess and drive. Walter Elias Disney - born on December 5th, 1901. Today’s Mug of the Day was created to honor what would have been Walt’s 100th birthday celebration had he not left us much too soon at the young age of 65. I picked up this mug some time ago off a major secondary market auction sales website - namely eBay, lol. It shows a l

The Man Behind the Vision
While I have an affinity for all things Disney, I have a stronger appreciation for anything connected directly to the man behind the original vision for the Disney Company, Walt Disney himself. This week’s Souvenir Saturday pays homage to the creative prowess of Walt. If you are lucky enough to be in the Parks in the near future, keep an eye out for this amazing souvenir so you can bring a piece of Walt Disney’s vision home with you! From the Walt Disney Archive Collection,

Cry Over Spilt Coffee, Not Milk.
Mondays. Oy vey! If it were a Monday and I spilled my cup of joe, yes I would tear up. How do I know? It’s happened. Mondays have enough challenges without wasting your morning energy lifeline and often without immediate replenishment nearby. Se la vi. It’s Mug of the Day Monday! So why the milk idiom? For today’s mug I am taking it back… way back. In fact, so far back, to be honest I don’t even use this mug for my morning coffee. Instead I proudly display it in a c

Bring Home A Piece of the Party!
Being that last week’ s Souvenir Saturday was missed, hopefully I make up for it with an extra amazing item this week. Sometimes Disney parks are so magical, filled with joy and elation it can make one want to break out in song and dance. On some occasions, venues within Disney parks transform into hoppin’ party atmospheres. One of my favorite displays of this happens when Swing Dancing events happen at what use to be known as the Carnation Plaza, now known as the Royal Th

Pick Your Poison
Mondays are often a dread to face and we may need something a little more potent to get through our day. What better vessel for our day-starting poison than this iconic poison apple themed mug from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? I don't personally own this mug and it currently shows sold out on disneystore.com indicating a high level of popularity. A periodic check of the product page by CLICKING HERE may end up showing this mug back in stock eventually so it may be wort

This Week’s Souvenir Might Just Blow Your Socks Off!
No, this is not a twisted April Fool's joke. Seriously, who doesn’t need a decent pair of dress socks? Work, church, formal dinner parties - you never know when you may need to reach for a pair of dress socks. Why not have some fun with it? These socks are marketed toward men under the Twenty Eight & Main collection of men’s gear sold at Disney parks - the twenty eight referring to the year Mickey Mouse made his debut. Also, the styles in this collection are often influe
