How's this for a Throwback Thursday?
Sixty years ago today, the Submarine Voyage opened at Disneyland! On June 6th, 1959 we began daring explorations under the sea at Disneyland. The official dedication would not take place for a few more days on June 14. In honor of this milestone I present to you an extremely rare floaty pencil - yes pencil, not pen - souvenir that is likely as old as the attraction! Complete with mermaid and shark encounter! This is another amazing example of quality souvenirs found with

On This Day In Disney History
Disneyland’s Space Mountain roller coaster opened 40 years ago today on May 27, 1977. I specify the attraction’s location at Disneyland because a seldom realized fact is that Space Mountain at Walt Disney World actually opened first just over two years prior. After the success of the attraction at WDW, Imagineers moved quickly to adapt the ride for Disneyland which had tighter space restrictions. The grand opening was a huge event that included six of the original seven Me

THE Penny Arcade Getting Some Souvenir Love
Once again it’s Saturday and the discovery of another Twenty Eight & Main souvenir has blown me away. The patches baseball cap looks amazing and has what can best be described as vintage advertising park icon patches. Some of my favorite souvenirs pay homage to more obscure park icons and in this case it is the whimsical Penny Arcade found on Main Street that is shown some rare “souvenir love.” This hat has six different patches as follows: Main Street Penny Arcade - A room

The Man Behind the Vision
While I have an affinity for all things Disney, I have a stronger appreciation for anything connected directly to the man behind the original vision for the Disney Company, Walt Disney himself. This week’s Souvenir Saturday pays homage to the creative prowess of Walt. If you are lucky enough to be in the Parks in the near future, keep an eye out for this amazing souvenir so you can bring a piece of Walt Disney’s vision home with you! From the Walt Disney Archive Collection,

Germs Are Not The Souvenirs We Want to Bring Home!
There are free “souvenirs” that all park goers can and do take home with them. Germs, yuck! Now, not to slight Disney as they run an incredibly clean operation especially given the number of guests they host, but out in the public realm, it can be a constant battle to rid ourselves of these pests. An effective and simple weapon to fight them off is hand sanitizer. It is an excellent idea when travelling to the Disney parks, or anywhere for that matter, to take a small bot

Cry Over Spilt Coffee, Not Milk.
Mondays. Oy vey! If it were a Monday and I spilled my cup of joe, yes I would tear up. How do I know? It’s happened. Mondays have enough challenges without wasting your morning energy lifeline and often without immediate replenishment nearby. Se la vi. It’s Mug of the Day Monday! So why the milk idiom? For today’s mug I am taking it back… way back. In fact, so far back, to be honest I don’t even use this mug for my morning coffee. Instead I proudly display it in a c

Aaargh, You Sunk My Pirate Ship, Matey!
Classic board games. Classic Disneyland attractions. Marry the two in a souvenir and you are sure to have a hit with young and old alike! It has been a couple weeks since the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean attraction hit the 50 year milestone, and I cannot stop thinking about how amazing that really is. Just stop and think, a theme park ride that is 50 years old and is still as entirely relevant, thrilling, enthralling, and technologically amazing as it was 50 years

You just might flip over the Disney Flips Collection
Sometimes as a part of what brings us back to a place of nostalgia, iconic park characters are what triggers some very special memories within us. There are many different Disney characters that hold a special place in our hearts. So much so that it can be difficult to narrow it down to just one to bring home as a memento from our memorable Park visit. Enter the Disney Flips Collection. Personally, I am not a huge fan of stuffed animals, but these are pretty awesome and s
